The Springfield, Missouri Electrical JATC—proudly affiliated with IBEW 453—commits to providing top‑tier, comprehensive training that prepares our apprentices and journeymen to excel in the evolving electrical industry. We strive to cultivate technical mastery, uncompromising safety, professional integrity, and lifelong learning, ensuring our members are equipped to meet the needs of our contractors, our community, and the electrical trade with excellence.
Alongside on‑the‑job training, apprentices receive tuition‑free classroom instruction at our training center, paying only for books. Our curriculum blends safety, theory, and practical application to ensure every apprentice develops the competence and confidence expected of an IBEW electrician.
Graduates of the program earn nationally recognized IBEW credentials, opening doors to lifelong career opportunities, excellent wages, and the professional pride that comes with mastering the electrical trade.

Inside Apprenticeship
The Springfield, Missouri Electrical JATC, affiliated with IBEW 453, offers a comprehensive apprenticeship program designed to launch a stable, well‑paid career in the electrical trade. Once indentured, apprentices begin working for one of our trusted local electrical contractors, gaining hands‑on experience under the guidance of experienced journeymen.
The JATC works with highly successful contractors throughout our jurisdiction in Southwest Missouri to provide on-the-job training as well as extensive classroom training. Apprentices will receive competitive wages as well as a great pension and medical plan. College credit is also available to those who complete the program. After completion, you will be an Inside Journeyman Wireman and entitled to all of the privileges of membership in the IBEW, including the ability to work anywhere in the world where work is available.
